What is it about me that people find so comforting, maybe they think I'm as sad as them, and so they are drawn to me, and all that comes along, I've died before, and I don't regret it, I'm glad to be born again, and the people around me that are depressed, dead, lonely, hurting, it seems too much. If I can help, that's enough to make me happy, but all too often it seems as if people just want/expect me to be jaded enough to give them permission or something. I don't want anyone to die. I want everyone to be happy. I may not have happiness built into me, but i would never wish that on another. i lack that, but i'm not a fucking robot. i'm hurt, too, and i do not want this. i have ears, and they are open, but when we're past that, i don't understand what's left. trust me, it hurts. She's Lost Control

Recently the world's been spinning without a second for the breathing part. I've started to wonder how anyone manages to make it through life without being an artist. Is it possible that artists are the only people that feel the need to express themselves in a way that is mostly magic, partly insincere, and often condescending?

Often times i feel it crumbling before my eyes, right through my fingers, and i'm unable to catch it, or even define what it is. i find it hard to relate with people who are not artists. And even more so, i don't consider all artists on an even plain... In no way do i consider myself stuck up, i guess i am elitist at times, but i love those that are willing.

Drinking, i have found a way to release myself, i may not be the artist that i once was, but if you want to hear about it, i have some ideas... the drunken ramblings of a mad woman may be slightly too much right now...

And speaking of madness......

Projects! Projects! Huzzah!
Here's some little sillies...

This next guy is heavily influenced by some of my favorite crafters. She is made of fabric scraps and old pants. She's about 2 1/2 feet tall including her legs. I don't have a photo of her after she was finished yet, but she is done, and that will be posted soon.

Her name is Myrtle. Shs is an octocatowl. She loves staying up late at night, and wearing pretty dresses. Her favorite band is Shonen Knife...

I made this for work, but I don't think I want to give it up. The pattern's from Stitch N' Bitch Nation.

We recently had an adventure at The Biblical Gardens. It was quite magical...

We've also been going to Meri St. Mary's radio show, The Underground Sound on KVMR every other Wednesday from Midnight to 4 AM, it can be streamed live at KVMR.com. If you get a chance, try to listen to it, she plays some really good psych and punk rock...

Oh, and one more thing... We'll be in San francisco from Jult 15-19. Get your party hats on...

Caleb has an art show starting on the 16th. That night we will be attending a show at The Eagle on Howard. Meth Teeth and The Oh Sees will be playing, and we are all very excited.

And what's going on in S.F. on July 16th and 17th? Oh, The mother effin Renegade Craft Fair. I could not be more excited.

I've been disgustingly busy recently, so I haven't been posting at all. This will actually suck because i don't have any photos uploaded of the things i've been keeping busy with. A lot of embroidering, and some knitting. Oh, and listen to this!!! I started drawing again, and i even attempted writing. Mostly all failed attempts, but, whatever. Feeling more neurotic than usual, and with the same going-ons as usual... i don't really know. Chris' death has really saddened me. My world is moving abnormally fast around me, and i'm just at a stand still. i really hate it. i will fix it, eventually.

Especially is you saw and enjoyed Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, because this is kind of on the same path, but I think it's far superior. So, yeah, watch it. So, it's been a while since my last post... I've been knitting a lot, and now that Christmas is over, I don't have to worry about gifts as much, except for your blanket, Rachel!!! Which is more than half done, geez, it's taking a while. After doing a custom hat recently, I have once again fallen in love with knitting hats.

As you can tell, I have perhaps been watching too much Gurren Lagann lately(Which is a totally amazing anime, and I recommend you watch)...

The blue hat is called "The Spiral Cap," and is from a Vogue Knitting book...

They are so quick to do, and they're not easy to mess up, which is nice... Lets see, I will be attending TNNA (The National Needle Arts Association) for work in San Diego this weekend. I have to catch my plane super early on Friday morning. But then I will be in S.D. for 4 days all by my lonesome... Fun stuff. I will remember to take my camera with me for sure!

It is becoming increasingly obvious to me that there is a magical relationship between knitters, and their pet counterparts. I have recently been noticing more and more the amount of knitters (including myself), that have chosen rabbits as their sweet pets, rather than dogs or cats. Rabbits are incredibly special little creatures, and when I look at my little princess Mildred, I can't help but smile. She has such a personality, (I know that everyone says this about their pets, but it's effing true!) I find this trend with knitters to be quite amazing and special, so if you are a knitter and have a special bunny in your life, why don't you tell me about them? Non-knitters are also free to share their bunny pics/stories, too, of course!
